A Bit About Me

sarah1.jpeg
Having successfully completed my university studies, I now hold an honours degree in Creative Computing from South East Technological University. Prior to this achievement, I attained a level 5 distinction in business studies, which laid the foundation for my career transition and fueled my passion for creativity.

During my time at university, I dedicated myself to honing my skills in web and graphic design, leveraging my prior experience as a self-taught polymer clay artist and the owner of Boho Dreams Studio. This journey has equipped me with a unique blend of technical expertise and artistic flair, positioning me as a versatile professional ready to make meaningful contributions in the field.

Now, as a university graduate, I am eager to embark on the next chapter of my career, seeking opportunities where I can apply my creativity, technical skills, and entrepreneurial mindset to drive innovation and deliver impactful solutions.

Boho Dreams Studio
How a Little Art Hobby, Led Me to Start a Computers Degree

In 2013, after being made redundant from Ladbrokes, I found myself exploring new avenues of creativity. This journey led me to discover polymer clay, a medium that immediately resonated with me. Immersing myself in tutorials and practice, I found joy in crafting jewellery and sculpting, particularly fairy houses.

Transitioning to a role at the tourist office in Tramore, I initially viewed computer work as administrative. However, during a Business Studies course in Kilmacthomas, my perspective shifted. Engaging with digital media, I uncovered a passion for creative computing. This newfound interest manifested in designing logos, collaborating with graphic designers, and independently crafting a website for Boho Dreams Studio using WordPress.

In 2017, amidst this journey, I co-founded the Irish Polymer Clay Guild (IPCG). Serving as both a founding member and committee member, the IPCG became a vital hub for polymer clay artists in Ireland. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, the guild adapted, utilising online platforms for meetings.

These experiences have shaped my professional identity, emphasising creativity, collaboration, and technological innovation as central tenets of my career trajectory.
